Excited About Life

I don't know what's going on in your life, but whatever it is you need to find a way to be excited about it.  I'm experiencing my own level of excitement because I've FINALLY finished my book, I'm Not Successful Because I Don't Want To Be.  I'm pleased with the content, cover, interior layout and printing, all I have to do now is get it marketed, placed on bookstore shelves and prepare for the zillions of speaking engagements that are to come.  I am really EXCITED about my life and where it's going and you should feel the same way too.

You've got to find the one thing in your life that causes a "rocket like" spark and shoot for the moon.  It's all possible, you just have to give it a try no matter how long it takes.  Who says you cannot go as far as you would like in life?  It's probably only you thats holding YOU back.  Now get up and get EXCITED!

Road Block -Detour's Are Allowed

If you've driven for more than 5 minutes you will agree that the worst thing you can experience when you're in a hurry or running late for an appointment is a "Road Block".  It's usually a construction road block, automobile accident or the typical morning and afternoon drive.  Whichever you frequently encounter you know that it's a frustrating addition to your day.  With every Road Block there's always a Detour and you need to be prepared for when it arises.  Sometimes there will be a road sign telling you which way to go or you're familiar enough with the route that you'll recall your own shortcuts.  Nonetheless, when you're driving finding a way to maneuver around a road block is a matter good driving skills or how much of a hurry you're in.

But what do you do when you approach a Road Block on the way to fulfilling your life goals.  How do you respond to that delay?  Do you already have a way of escape?  You can't let it get you down.  So what, things aren't going the way  you had hoped, take a detour.  Detour's are allowed on your life's journey as well and if you have a back up plan or a secondary route, the Road Block won't even phase you.

Starting today, you should welcome any road block that comes your way.  Why?  Because the detour is most likely the path you should be taking anyway.

Remembering Your Mountain Top Experience

I recently went on my VERY first official hiking trip to Looking Glass Mountain and it was both frustrating and exhilerating.  The reason I decided to start my year off with a hike was so that I can use the experience as a metaphor of the upcoming year.  In my book I make reference to climbing a mountain and how you almost want to quit before you even begin.  But once you start the hike and you're halfway to the top, you look down and realize that you're almost there and you've got to keep moving.  I'll be honest, I felt like giving up so many times, I was out of breath within the first five minutes, my backpack felt like it weighed 100lbs and my entire body started to ache.  The one thing that kept me motivated was I wanted to accomplish the climb and make it to the top and there was a person behind me encouraging me to keep pressing through and that I was almost there.  Well, I made it to the top of that mountain and I cannot exactly explain everything that I was feeling, but one thing I can tell you is that I was glad I did not give up.

As I go through 2011 I know I'm going to have some points on my journey where I become frustrated and will think that it's too hard to complete and I'll want to give up.  But as long as I "Remember My Mountain Top Experience" and keep it in the forefront of my memory-I know that I am sure to prevail.  Create a memory milestone for yourelf and use that to keep you moving in 2011.

Taking It One Day At A Time

Happy New Year & Happy New You!
It's a new year and every year about this time many us embark on a new journey for weight loss, new outlook on life or just starting over.  Whatever journey you decide to take in 2011, don't try to conquer it all at once.  Take each step one day at a time.  If you attempt to take on too much all at once you will start feeling overwhelmed very early and you will most likely give up within the first 30 days.
The best way to take on this new year and lavish in the success that will come with it, I strongly encourage you to write a list of your overall goals for 2011, but specify next to each one at what point in 2011 you hope to achieve it.  After writing this list, post it in a place that is visible where you can be reminded of what it is that you're after.
Go make success happen, but "Take It One Day At a Time"

The Scent of Nearing Completion

If you've ever run a marathon or even participated in a relay race with your friends as a child you would know what I mean when I say "the scent" of completion."  You know that feeling that you get when you're just a mere hair ahead of your opponent and you can visually see the finish line.  There's just a certain scent that comes with the imagery of completion and no perfumed fragrance could ever compare to this one.  Your heart starts to pant at a very rapid pace and no matter how out of breath you were seconds before setting sight on the finish line-something inside you pushes you in such a way that you know that quitting is definitely not an option.

Well that describes the feeling that I felt on yesterday when I received a draft print copy of my book, "I'm Not Successful Because I Don't Want To Be."  When I opened that box and removed the piece of cardboard that concealed it, I literally envisioned it on the shelf in all the major bookstores.  What a fragrance, you must experience it for yourself.  And you can; by committing to reserve at least 1 hour each day this week, to work your plan and plan your vision.  Make it happen, because it's a fragrance that you DON'T EVER want to miss.

43 Days To Success. . . .

......Yes, to your success.  My book, I'm Not Successful Because I Don't Want To Be is scheduled to be released on December 1st.

I’m Not Successful Because I Don’t Want To Be!  Now who in their right mind would ever make a statement like that?  Failure is always the fault of someone else.  The lack of these six factors Vision, Passion, Motivation, Education, Funding, and a Taking Action are what held me back.  And if you add PROCRASTINATION to the equation, it’s sure to sum it up to failure.

Take a seat in your favorite chair, grab a nice cold beverage, sit back and let’s talk about the future of our success and if in fact it really does exist.  I’m Not Successful Because I Don’t Want To Be is a book birthed from my life after my 40th birthday.  Distractions by invitation and poor choices led to my not being successful and not meeting up with my purpose and destiny.  This book is a conversation with the reader causing them to take a pause in their life to soul their search and to conduct their own reality check.

Tell Me. . . WHAT HAS HELD YOU BACK?  And What Do You Plan To Do To Get Back On Track?  Or - Tell me YOUR Success Story.
